Biography
Dulyaphab joined the Department of Political Economy (DPE) at King’s College London in February 2023. He holds an MSc in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of York.
His research interests lie at the crossroads of normative and descriptive accounts of politics, ranging from ideal to non-ideal modes of political theorising. In particular, he is interested in problems of ideological and identity politics, what it means for disagreement to be political and their implications for democratic theory and practice.
He is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science at Thammasat University in his hometown of Bangkok, Thailand, where he teaches political theory and political philosophy. At Thammasat, his research on the ideological bearings of polarised conflict in Thailand was selected for the National Research Awards by the National Research Council of Thailand.
Dulyaphab occasionally writes for a popular audience on Thai politics. His op-eds can be found in local news outlets like The Bangkok Post and Prachatai English.

Doctoral research
Dulyaphab’s doctoral project centres on questions of compromise, domination and agonism in democratic theory, examining the extent to which compromise is possible and desirable in circumstances where modern conditions of pluralism and underlying inequalities of power expose democratic institutions and the normative orders on which these rest not only to an ineliminable degree of ideological contestation and indeterminacy but also to capture and erosion. More generally, his project seeks to develop a realist democratic theory of compromise.
