Biography
David gained his BSc at the University of Auckland of 1963 followed by a MSc in mathematics in 1964. He researched his PhD in physics at Syracuse University, graduating in 1968.
After completing his PhD he took up a role as a US National Academy of Sciences research associate at the ARL, Dayton from 1968-70 before moving to the Department of Mathematics at King's College London in 1970. He held the role of Head of Department at King's from 1993 to 1996 and was appointed Emeritus Professor in 2001.
