Biography

Caitlin joined the Sustainability Team (Research) at King’s College London in August 2023. In her role as Sustainability Technician, Caitlin will spearhead the integration of sustainable practices into the university’s research activities, operations and infrastructure. Caitlin aims to secure funding for sustainability-focused proposals, ensuing that the most promising green projects receive the support they deserve, and most importantly explore emerging technologies, pushing the boundaries of what is possible, to discover novel ways of reducing King’s carbon footprint whilst maintaining the integrity of our research data. One of Caitlin’s key projects is to support facilities to engage with the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF).

Caitlin's  experience as a Technician in research and teaching laboratories including Cell Culture, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Chemistry and Environmental Science. Prior to joining King’s, Caitlin worked at UCL as a Senior Cell and Molecular Biology Technician at the Ear Institute, managing the cell and molecular biology wet labs and gaining her Biosafety Practitioner (Level 1) registration. Caitlin led on sustainability for her department, achieving Gold in LEAF and Green Impact, as well as running sustainable lab projects.
