Dr Antonio Cannata MD

Clinical Research Fellow

Biography

I am a Clinical Research Fellow in the Heart Failure Department of the King’s College Hospital, London. I trained in Cardiovascular Physiology at the Harvard Medical School and in Clinical Cardiology at the University of Trieste, Italy. My main research interests are the epidemiology of Heart Failure and optimization of treatment, Clinical Trials in Heart Failure, Cardio-Oncology, Myocarditis and risk stratification.

I have successfully completed a MSc in Clinical Trials at the University of Oxford with a Dissertation on a non-inferiority trial of withdrawal of medical therapy in ischaemic heart disease and have experience as sub-investigator of several clinical trials. Academically, I have authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications (including first-author publications in JAMA Cardiology, European Heart Journal, and European Journal of Heart Failure).

I am a member of national and international societies, including being the Vice-Chair of the ESC Young CV Professionals and ESC Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases. I am also the immediate past Chair of the HFA Young Committee, which oversees international projects for more than 5,000 young Heart Failure specialists.
