Anette Johansson Singarajah

Teacher of Swedish

Biography

Anette Johansson Singarajah is a native Swedish speaker who studied Language & Literature, specialising in English and German, at Linköping University in Sweden. She graduated from the Teacher Training College in 1987. She has a passion for languages and different cultures and has taught English, including Commercial Correspondence and Financial English, in Germany (Wirtschafts- und Sozial Akademie der Angestelltenkammer Bremen – Nebenstelle Bremerhaven), Luxembourg (International Language Centre (ILS)) and in the UK (ESOL & ALS tutor). She taught German at a local German Saturday School for 13 years – enjoying the German culture whilst living in London. Having settled in Surrey and not wanting her children to miss out on Swedish traditions, like midsummer and Lucia, she joined the local Scandinavian Club – meeting other expatriates as passionate about Scandinavian culture as she is (not to mention the food and the cakes!). She loves watching ice-hockey, skiing and fika! Anette has 10 years’ experience of teaching intensive Swedish to diplomats at the FCO, as well as one-to-one and group tuition at SEB (Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB) and various law firms in London. She joined King’s College London in 2016.
