
Dr Ana Pinto

Biography
Ana trained in dietetics and nutrition in Portugal and completed her PhD at King's in 2017 looking at dietary determinants of heart rate variability (an indirect measure of cardiac autonomic function), including long chain n-3 PUFA and intermittent fasting. Ana has worked with different cohorts, including vegans, haemodialysis patients and obesity. Ana has lectured on the nutrition support module at Roehampton University and continued her career at King's as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Ana's research interests relate to cardiometabolic health, with a focus on postprandial metabolism and the effect of novel ingredients and foods in the dietary treatment and risk reduction of cardiometabolic diseases, particularly cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
