We're moving! Strand Careers Centre to close in March 2025

We're moving as part of the broader Campus Futures programme underway!

Strand Careers Centre

Why the move is happening

We’re excited to share some exciting updates about the upcoming changes to our campus as part of the Campus Futures programme.

The programme will enhance our campuses to create an environment for our students and staff to support their success, including creating high-quality facilities that inspire collaboration, innovation, and world-class learning experiences.

As part of this project, King's Careers & Employability will be departing our home in Bush House (South East) and moving to a new shared Student Services Hub in Bush House (North West). This move will place us alongside other essential services, such as the Disability Advisory Services and Visas & International Student Advixe making it more accessible and visible to all students.

Our current home will be repurposed for the Arts and Humanities departments, moving from the Virginia Woolf Building.

What is moving?

  • Strand Careers Centre: Will close on Friday 14 March 2025 - this space will cease to be available as a dedicated careers space from this point onwards.
  • Careers Workshop Room: Will close on Friday 7 March 2025 - this space will cease to be available for workshops and masterclasses from this point, however we are working hard to identify alternative spaces which can be used for employer activitity from summer 2025.
  • King's Careers & Employabiity Staff Offices: Will close on Friday 14 March 2025 and will be relocated to the James Clerk Maxwell Building on the Waterloo Campus. N.B. no student facing appointments will be conducted in this space.

What is opening?

  • A new shared Student Services Hub will open on the fourth floor of Bush House (North West) from mid-April 2025, where we will be conducting appointments from this point onwards.

What happens over the gap above?

  • During the gap (Monday 17 March - mid-April) we will continue to run appointments at both Guy's Campus in our Guy's Careers Office, at Denmark Hill for IoPPN students and online for all other appointments as a temporary measure.
  • All our usual digital services remain available during this period, so you can continue to utilise our digital careers education on KEATS, vacancy board and events calendar throughout the gap in physical space.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this transition., and we we make updates to our website, notifications and systems to acknwowledge these changes. These changes are designed to improve your experience and provide better facilities for all.

What's happening next?

The above changes are temporary, as part of the Campus Futures programme of work and we hope to be moving into a brand new Careers Centre in the Bush House South West block from 2028 onwards.
