Season's Greetings from King's Employer Engagement

Andrew Wright, Associate Director (Employer Engagement & Work-based Learning)

Wishing all our employer, alumni and supplier partners a safe and happy holiday season!

Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Employer Engagement Teams at King's College London!

Our offices are closed from 16:00 on Friday 20 December to 09:00 on Thursday 4 January 2025 inclusive. During this time we will not be able to publish or approve any opportunities uploaded to King's CareerConnect or confirm any bookings for events.

This autumn has seen our busiest season of activity ever - and we've been delighted to welcome the widest range of employers to engage an ever broader cohort of students from across King's.

We've been overwhelmed by the demand from employers to raise awareness of your opportunities, recruit, educate and upskill our audience. So, to all of our partners - thank you. Thank you for sharing those struggles, for trusting in us to adapt and deliver new opportunities, events and provision and for continuing to recognise the breadth of talent here at King's.

What's coming up in 2025?

King's Employer Brunch, Advisory Board & Recruiter Survey

A new way to engage with King's and hear the latest intelligence from our leadership, faculty and plans for innovative new educational ideas training the next generation of talent - these new Employer Brunch events launch in the new year and we can't wait to welcome many of you to the first of this new series in January.

We plan to hold these biannually, giving you access to our academics, research and leadership and bringing you together for new networking opportunities across sector, so stay tuned for further updates in the new year alongside details of our second annual King's Recruiter Survey.

Our refreshed Employer Advisory Board will also be supporting us to integrate employability across King's programmes in new ways, enhancing our labour market intelligence and working directly with leaders across the University.

Brand & Attraction Events

Last year we undertook a large-scale review of our core brand and attraction activity, offering new ways to engage, in new spaces and with broader audiences. As we head into 2025-26 planning, many of these will be returning once again - and we'll be tweaking them further to make them even more impactful.

We're also sharing more data than ever before on historic attendances - in early 2025, we'll be publishing full breakdowns of attendances at our key events by faculty, gender, nationality, career confidence, level of study and disability to help you once again maximise your engagement in this activity as we prepare to open up for autumn 2025 activity.

Our hope is that this supports you in decision-making around which events will be of greatest impact to you, factoring in different priority cohorts alongside restricted budgets and resourcing, allowing you to make the most of engagement at King's in the right spaces.

Global Engagement & Labour Market Insight

Once again, we're hitting the road and plan to be visiting key recruitment markets for our students and graduates, building our international reach.

Next spring, we'll be back in the US at the NACE Conference & Expo in Philadelphia, USA and in further exciting developments, we can't wait to be working with colleagues at both LSE and Imperial College London to deliver a refreshed series of careers fairs out in mainland China and Hong Kong SAR next August, before joining alumni and academics in Singapore later in the summer.

More details on how to book your place for these events in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong will follow very soon if you're keen to build your profile and meet with top talent from three top ranked global universities.

From all of us at King's Employer Engagement, we thank you for all your continued support throughout this most different of years, and look forward to working with you again in 2025!
