The School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences (BMEIS) will be exhibiting its cutting-edge healthcare technology and research at New Scientist Live, between 12 and 14 October at ExCeL London.

Voted as the most popular exhibit at both New Scientist Live 2022 and 2023, Hospital of the Future will invite visitors to explore the School’s mission to engineer better health through interactive technology and experiments including surgical robotics, medical imaging, artificial intelligence and nuclear medicine.

BMEIS will be joined by industry partners including medical device company Medtronic exhibiting their Stealth Autoguide™ Cranial robotic guidance platform, and digital engineering company Ansys showcasing the use of simulation engineering for ultrasound and medical devices.

Attended by over 22,000 visitors every year, New Scientist Live is the UK's largest science festival. As well as being an excellent opportunity for the School to showcase its work and achievements, it also allows BMEIS researchers to bring its work and ideas to the public.

With over one million people engaging with the NHS each day, the event provides an invaluable platform to engage with the public and get their perspectives on work and technologies which may impact their own healthcare outcomes in the future.

Our Hospital of the Future allows audiences to explore the ever-evolving field of healthcare engineering and discover the many paths available to enter this industry. Our interdisciplinary exhibits embody the spirit of collaboration that defines our School. Regardless of your scientific interests, we hope to inspire you to pursue a future that aligns with your ambitions.

Stealth Autoguide™ cranial robotic guidance platform accurately aligns a neurosurgeon’s surgical plans for cranial procedures. Continuous real-time visualisation, feedback, and robotically-assisted movement allow neurosurgeons to quickly and accurately align their pre-operative surgical plans safely and precisely. We are excited to collaborate with King's to showcase how academia and industry partnership can lead to new advances in future of healthcare, clinical research and innovation.
