School awarded Silver Athena SWAN Award

The School of Cardiovascular Medicine & Sciences (formally Cardiovascular Division) is delighted to announce that we have been granted an Athena SWAN Silver Award by the Equality Challenge Unit.

The Athena SWAN charter was launched in 2005 to recognise the commitment of institutions that promote and advance the careers of women in STEMM subjects (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine).

Cardiovascular Division Self-Assessment Team (SAT)

The Divisional SAT was established in December 2013 and coordinates the research, planning and action that will enable us to make positive changes to the way we support women scientists in the School.

Our SAT has a diverse membership of male and female academic, research and professional services staff, from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds, and PhD students.
