The survey, which was taken by trainee teachers in the School, showed that 100% of respondents agreed (out of which 92% strongly agreed) that the programme would make them a good or better teacher.

The survey also found that:

  • 100% agreed (84% strongly) they had been effectively trained by staff;
  • 100% agreed (84% strongly) that the training has enabled them to teach their specialist subject and
  • 96% agreed (92% strongly) that they would recommend the training programme to others.

An overwhelming majority of respondents suggested that they believe they will be able to reach Teachers’ standards at the end of their training.

Simon Gibbons, Director of Teacher Education, commented: “These results mirror our own internal survey data which similarly points to the outstanding quality and effectiveness of the PGCE programme within ECS. Overwhelmingly positive feedback such as this speaks to the enormous efforts of all the academic and professional staff associated with the School's ITE provision.”

The positive results reinforce the findings of the School’s recent inspection by Ofsted which graded the provision as “Outstanding”.
