Made up of the former Department of Liberal Arts and Cultural Competency Unit, the new Department blends expertise from across the arts, humanities, and social sciences, bringing together a range of approaches, theories, and methods.

The Department of Interdisciplinary Humanities is an exciting prospect, offering a unique opportunity for interdisciplinary research and teaching to cohere around a common set of objectives and to find space to embark on new, collaborative ventures. I'm fascinated to see the projects that will emerge from this new department over the coming months and years!

George Legg, Head of the new Department of Interdisciplinary Humanities

The Department offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as professional education options. These include the BA in Liberal Arts, MA in Global Cultures, and modules for students, staff and businesses in Cultural Competency.

The Department of Interdisciplinary Humanities is a hugely exciting moment in the history of Arts and Humanities at King's. It provides us with an opportunity to grow our strengths in interdisciplinary teaching and research in new ways, and it will allow us to demonstrate the importance of the humanities for responding to today's biggest, most urgent questions.

Dan Orrells, Head of Cultures in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities
