It is an honour to be recognised by the largest public university in Argentina, and to be given the privilege of contributing to the country's valuable and essential public education system – especially at a time when it is under siege by the government.

Dr Nick Srnicek, Senior Lecturer in Digital Economy, became an Honorary Professor of the University of Buenos Aires. He was awarded the title by Vice-Rector Emiliano Yacobitti at a ceremony in the Faculty of Economic Sciences.
At the University of Buenos Aires, Dr Srnicek delivered a lecture on the future of work. The talk engaged his recent research with Professor Helen Hester on the politics of care work and the struggle for free time.
Setting out the challenges facing economies as demographics shift older, Dr Nick Srnicek encouraged to rethink the way we organise care work and domestic labour to maximise free time while meeting the growing care needs of society.
We need to imagine a massive expansion of democratic opportunities for people to have a voice in the norms and rules that are governing their lives. Ultimately, what matters is not so much the endless reduction of labour per se, but instead the cultivation of time and institutions through which we might consciously and collectively guide the development of humanity.
