Dr Giuseppe Mainas receives BSP Fellowship Award
Congratulations to Dr Giuseppe Mainas, DDS, MClin Perio, PhDc, who has been awarded a British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (BSP) Fellowship Award.
The Clinical Fellowship Award is designed to enhance clinical training by providing support for successful applicants to participate in or attend events that have a clear educational benefit, with explicitly stated educational outcomes. With a maximum award of up to £4,000, Dr Mainas will attend the "3-Day Advanced Bone and Soft Tissue Course", held by Professor Istvan Urban in Budapest (Hungary).
Based in the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences, Dr Mainas is currently a PhD student in Clinical Dentistry Research (Periodontology Unit). Under the supervision of Professor Luigi Nibali and Professor Mark Ide, his area of research is focused on periodontal inflammation and its modulation by using new methods such as dietary restrictions (e.g., fasting).
The British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry was founded in 1949 to promote public and professional awareness of periodontology and implant dentistry.
