Today over 50 participants joined the second 2022 webinar in the HSCWRU Learning Disability series, led by Linda Hume from the Challenging Behaviour Foundation who shared her research on Building capable environments using practice leadership. ‘Capable environments’ is an approach focusing on the quality of personalised support for individuals, and has been shown to increase staff confidence, improve individuals’ quality of life and reduce challenging behaviour and restrictive practices. Webinar participants welcomed the approach and Linda’s detailed responses to questions and discussion points.

Linda's slides are available on the event page.

This was part of the Learning Disability Services Series, presented by the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce.
