Research Fellow Carl Purcell was in Milan
The 12th annual conference organised by the European Social Work Research Association was held at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, 12-14 April. Unit researcher Dr Carl Purcell delivered a presentation on 14 April titled ‘Social work with Schools: Understanding the Role, Responsibilities and Pressures faced by Designated Safeguarding Leads in English Schools’. The presentation was based on the findings of an ESRC-funded research project led by the Unit, and the book ‘Protecting and Safeguarding Children in Schools: A Multi-agency Approach’ published in July 2022.
