Academic invited to share insights with government department
A King’s College London academic delivered a seminar on international trade and development to officials from the Department of Business and Trade.
Dr James Scott, a reader in international politics, was invited to speak to an audience of 250 civil servants and officials about a range of topics including the World Trade Organisation, its relationship with global development, and the future of industrial policy.
Dr Scott, from the Department of Political Economy, also answered questions from the audience following the seminar, which took place on 30 October. The event formed part of a wider series of lectures with invited experts hosted by the Department of Business and Trade.
“I was delighted to have the opportunity to share my research and insights with an extremely engaged and knowledgeable audience at the department,” said Dr Scott.
