Dr Marianna Griffini was a special guest on the Korea-based TBF eFM’s This Morning programme on 28 July for a discussion about the resignation of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

As well as the circumstances that brought about the resignation and the current state of play, Dr Griffini also discussed what lies in store for Italy and for Draghi himself.

Dr Griffini, a lecturer in the Department of European and International Studies, said: “The future for Draghi may be out of government. The 25 September national elections will determine which political parties will replace Draghi’s technocratic government. The populist radical right party Brothers of Italy - Fratelli d’Italia, led by Giorgia Meloni, is likely to enter government for the first time.”
