To strengthen our combined impact, and taking an integrated approach, we committed to unite our assets and expertise to actively engage with and address urgent and deep-rooted issues. This includes the financial support that is offered to our communities across King’s Impact Priorities.

Our goal is to consolidate, integrate and elevate impact investment throughout education, research and service, facilitating the development of multi-disciplinary, cross-sector project teams, and enabling large-scale impact delivery in collaboration with external communities and partners.

One King’s Impact Fund

With £1,000,000 of funding available over two years, One King’s Impact Fund invests in scaling existing projects and supporting new initiatives across research, education and service that align with King's Impact Priorities.

One King’s Impact Fund supports project proposals between £25,000 and £50,000, increasing to £100,000 for high value proposals with clear scalable impact.

Funding opportunities

Applications for the 2024-2025 funding round are now closed, and applicants will be notified if they have been successful soon. Successful projects will be announced in Summer 2024.

Future funding opportunities will be shared on this page.

What type of projects are funded?

One King’s Impact Fund focuses on:

  • Seeding new initiatives and projects in early/developmental stages aimed at creating positive change and value for people, planet and society.
  • Encouraging applications from all types of projects that break disciplinary silos and integrate various types of activities. Projects need to demonstrate they have considered areas of and pathways to impact across research, education and service.
  • Supporting projects that identify and organise a community around the issue to be tackled, where academic and PS staff, students and external communities and partners work together to jointly identify a challenge as well as co-design and co-deliver the project.
  • Pump-priming initiatives with high impact potential for sustainable and scalable impact – i.e. proposals with potential for further development and funding (e.g. research grants, philanthropic funding, matched funding from partners, adoption by external organisations, and other sources of continuity beyond King’s.).
  • OKIF projects will deliver impact locally, nationally and globally. King’s position at the heart of London offers a unique opportunity to develop local (to King’s) solutions with potential for scaling up nationally and globally. OKIF will provide additional developmental support for projects focused on solutions with local partners and communities across London. OKIF will work with project teams to engage partners from King’s existing networks across London (at application stage or when projects are live).
