To strengthen our combined impact we are committed to unite our assets and expertise to actively engage with and address urgent and deep-rooted challenges.

Our goal is to consolidate, integrate and elevate impact investment throughout education, research and service, facilitating the development of multi-disciplinary, cross-sector project teams, and enabling large-scale impact delivery in collaboration with external communities and partners.

What type of projects have we funded so far?

One King’s Impact Fund focuses on:

  • Seeding new initiatives and projects in early/developmental stages aimed at creating positive change and value for people, planet and society.
  • Encouraging applications from all types of projects that break disciplinary silos and integrate various types of activities. Projects need to demonstrate they have considered areas of and pathways to impact across research, education and service.
  • Supporting projects that identify and organise a community around the issue to be tackled, where academic and professional services staff, students, alumni and external communities and partners work together to jointly identify a challenge as well as co-design and co-deliver the project.
  • Pump-priming initiatives with high impact potential for sustainable and scalable impact – i.e. proposals with potential for further development and funding (e.g. research grants, philanthropic funding, matched funding from partners, adoption by external organisations, and other sources of continuity beyond King’s.).
  • Projects that deliver impact locally, nationally and globally. King’s position at the heart of London offers a unique opportunity to develop local (to King’s) solutions with potential for scaling up nationally and globally.
