This webinar will introduce the Decision Mapping Tool (DMAT), an innovative and practical approach for supporting local leadership and agency in development and humanitarian programming.

Many commitments have been made towards localisation and locally led approaches in the sector, but progress is slow, particularly for enabling local leadership through a focus on shifting power.

The DMAT enables practitioners to explore and reflect on who is making key decisions across the programme cycle, and how. It has been designed iteratively through pilots in several programming contexts in Kenya, India, Ethiopia and Uganda, building upon the invaluable feedback of diverse facilitators and participants.

This webinar will introduce the tool and present some key insights from the pilots, illustrating how the DMAT can be used to support a process of mapping and reflection on decision-making power, and providing step-by-step information on how practitioners can use the tool in their own work.
