This seminar will take place online on Microsoft Teams. Please use the registration link to attain the online meeting link.

This lecture will draw on the book 'Good Education in a Fragile World: The Value of a Collaborative and Contextualised Approach to Sustainability in Higher Education' to explore what is arguably the most important question for contemporary education – what kind of education (in terms of purpose, pedagogy and policy) is needed to restore the health and wellbeing of the planet and ourselves, now and for generations to come?

Using examples from across different ages and phases, it will offer some thoughts about the role education can meaningfully play (and conversely what it cannot) and why we need to reclaim the idea of 'goodness'.

About the speaker: Dr Nicola Kemp is an Academic Lead for the Academy for Sustainable Futures at Canterbury Christ Church University.

This event is organised by Research and Education for Socio-Ecological Transformations (RE-SET).
