You are invited to a book launch for The UK and Multi-Level Financial Regulation: From Post-Crisis Reform to Brexit by Dr Scott James (King’s College London) and Professor Lucia Quaglia (University of Bologna).

The book will be introduced by the authors, and discussed by Professor David Coen (University College London) and Sam Lowe (Centre for European Reform).

The book examines the UK’s role in shaping post-crisis financial regulation, and assesses the implications of withdrawal from the EU. It develops a novel domestic political economy approach to examine how the interaction of elected officials, regulators, and industry shaped UK preferences, strategy, and influence in international and EU-level regulatory negotiations across five case studies: bank capital requirements; recovery and resolution rules; bank structural reform; hedge fund regulation; and derivatives regulation. The book concludes by reflecting on what these lessons tell us about the likely future of UK financial regulation after Brexit.

Refreshments (wine and canapés) will be provided. The event takes place on Thursday, 23 April, from 18.00 - 20.30. Entry to the event is free, with tickets available via Eventbrite here.

Full details about the book can be found here.
