Sustainable academic travel: balancing global research with climate responsibility

Strand Campus, London

As a global university in the heart of London, our students and staff travel for fieldwork and fieldtrips, to share their research at international conferences and to build global partnerships. But travel has an impact on the climate, and business travel is the fourth largest source of emissions at King’s. The University is committed to reducing these emissions, while not compromising our core mission.

This event will include a panel discussion and Q&A exploring how we minimise emissions from air travel, while improving diversity and equity in academia and delivering our ambitions. Highlighting a range of perspectives related to this issue, the discussion will help inform further measures to enable sustainable travel at King’s.
