The Bank of England Watchers’ conference is an annual event which seeks to bring together the diverse community of people who have an interest the work of the Bank of England – and central banking more broadly. Our attendees include prominent policymakers at the BoE, plus economists and Bank watchers from roles in academia, think tanks, financial markets, politics, and the media.

Since starting the conference in 2022, we have been fortunate enough to attract many top-tier speakers including Charles Goodhart, Isabel Schnabel, Tobias Adrian, Gertjan Vlieghe, Martin Wolf, and Kristin Forbes, and many more, as well as policymakers from the Bank’s executive and currently serving MPC members.

While the primary focus is matters relating to monetary and financial stability in the United Kingdom, the forum also serves to debate broader global issues given their relevance for UK macroeconomic policy.

The event is organised by Dr Richard Barwell (BNP Paribas Asset Management), Professor David Aikman and Professor Paul Mizen (King's Business School).

The Bank of England Watchers’ conference is held in-person in London and is open to the public. We ask all attendees to register in advance.
