The Centre for Defence Studies at King's College London is proud to partner with The Resilience in Unity Project, a counter extremism organisation based in the United Kingdom that focuses on mitigating the societal impacts of terrorism, for the second year in a row for a panel discussion on countering terrorism.
The event will feature a former Islamist extremist, a survivor of the Tavistock Square bombing on the 7th of July 2005, and a practitioner—all with differing personal and professional experiences of terrorism. The discussion will be hosted by Dr. Hillary Briffa, Senior Lecturer in National Security Studies at KCL, and chaired by Emma Fox, Research Fellow at the Counter Extremism Group. We will focus on how radicalisation can affect young people and the role we can all play in preventing the spread of extremism. Following the testimony of our panellists, the second segment will involve a Q&A with audience members.
After the panel ends, students are welcome to stay for pizza and networking with our speakers.
Please note that this event is held in Lecture Theatre 2 in New Hunt's House, located on King's College London Guy's Campus. You can find the map of Guy's campus here and a Google maps link of New Hunt's House here.
