Professor Jinhee Choi discusses her upcoming book Forever Girls (Oxford University Press), which explores how girlhood manifests in South Korean cinema.
Professor Choi examines how girls’ bodies have embodied conflicting socio-political forces that shaped the nation since the 1970s, arguing that millennial South Korean cinema should grant girls the very girlhood that has long been denied to them.
The event will take place at the BFI Reuben Library (Belvedere Rd, London SE1 8XT).
