Join us on campus or online for an evening of networking and the launch of the latest book from Language Acts and Worldmaking, Translation as Advocacy: Perspectives in Practice, Performance and Publishing, edited by Catherine Boyle and Sarah Maitland (John Murray, 2024).

The book launch at 6pm includes Language Acts debates around the key topics and questions raised in Translation as Advocacy, with:

  • Alexa Alfer, Assistant Head of the School of Humanities and Principal Lecturer in Translation Studies, University of Westminster
  • Olivia Hellewell, Assistant Professor, Centre for Translation and Comparative Cultural Studies, University of Nottingham
  • Ceci Rossi, Professor in Literature and Translation, School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing, University of East Anglia
  • Alice Xiang, Lecturer in Comparative Literature, King’s College London

The event will also offer networking opportunities for researchers interested in working with the Language Acts and Worldmaking research centre.
