The African Leadership Centre (ALC) is pleased to invite you to a Keynote and Debate among academics, diplomats, and policy practitioners, titled: What should the future UK-Africa relationship look like? Priorities, collaboration and agencyThis event is a collaboration with the Labour African Network (LAN). LAN is a voice for Africans within the UK Labour Party.

The event aims to explore the complex dynamics surrounding UK-Africa relations with a focus on the future with attention to immediate, mid- and long-term priorities. The central question of whether African nations can be at the centre of UK’s strategic engagement with the continent underpins a discussion about charting a new direction in UK-Africa relations. The event asks what approaches are necessary to enable increasing focus on pertinent concerns including, industrial transformation, development finance/debt and just energy transitions vis-à-vis economic diplomacy; peace and security as an interdisciplinary agenda; integrated continental engagement vis-à-vis relevant national interests and; co-creating and co-designing across African and British expertise and communities of practice.
