Strand Campus, London

12FebGaza, the ICJ, and the politics of international law

The Research Centre in International Relations (RCIR) at King’s College London is pleased to welcome Dr Jasmine Gani for a talk on “Gaza, the International Court of Justice, and the politics of international law.”

The talk by Dr Jasmine Gani, hosted by the RCIR and Dr Sophie Haspeslagh of the Department of War Studies, will be followed by a Q&A.

Dr Jasmine Gani is Assistant Professor in International Relations Theory at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She specialises in anti-colonial theory and history, and the politics of empire, race and knowledge production. She is writing a book on ‘Racial Militarism’, using a postcolonial framework to analyse the relationship between race, militarism, and the state in both imperial metropoles and post-colonies. Her first monograph explored Syrian anti-colonialism against the US and Israel, drawing on archival research to trace the evolution of ideology and policy across intellectuals, social movements, and states.
