Dr Gillian Brooks, Professor Giana M Eckhardt and Professor Marie-Agnes Parmentier welcome you to a roundtable discussion on the latest approaches to circular fashion with key players in the industry, with ample opportunity for discussion over drinks and canapés overlooking the London skyline.
Repair, resale and rental.
These are the three pillars of circular fashion and are facilitated by peer-to-peer fashion rental, the rise of second-hand fashion, community fashion swaps, and apps that facilitate fashion repairs and alterations.
All of these represent innovations in circular fashion which are rapidly gaining prominence in the market, attracting major funding and press coverage, and increasing demand from sustainability-savvy consumers. Many of these innovations are being enabled by social media affordances.
In this roundtable, we discuss these initiatives with some of the leading players in circular fashion, asking how does circular fashion go beyond greenwashing, what are fashionistas looking for, and what does the future hold?
