The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at King’s College London is pleased to invite language educators to join us in our upcoming workshop, dedicated to exploring emergent practices and innovation in the teaching of modern languages.

In today’s interconnected world, the vocation of our discipline is more relevant than ever: we continue to enable learners to gain linguistic proficiency and deep insight into diverse social and cultural contexts, opening up new personal and professional perspectives and fostering cross-cultural collaboration.

The methods we use are evolving to reflect the changing social, institutional and technological landscapes in which we operate. This event provides a platform for educators to share expertise, reflect on best practice, and engage in dynamic discussions around state-of-the-art pedagogy.

This is the first in a series of three workshops that will bring together language educators at school and university level, with the aim of building sustainable relationships that will enable us to enhance our teaching practices and enrich the learning experiences of our students. Each workshop will have a broad theme.

At our inaugural event, we are focussing on bridging the gap between KS4, KS5 and undergraduate study. Over the course of the day, across a series of panels, we will explore different aspects of language learning at KS4, KS5 and beyond.

The event will run from 10am-5pm, followed by a wine reception from 5pm-6.30pm.

The event will take place in hybrid format, with remote access facilitated via Microsoft Teams. Participation is free, but advance registration is required. Please sign up here.
