Dark Matter Day 2024
Boo! Happy International Dark Matter Day!
This year, we’re thrilled to host our annual event on Friday 15th November.
Join us in celebrating the tireless work of scientists worldwide, who are searching for dark matter—the elusive substance that makes up 80% of the universe, yet remains one of its biggest mysteries.
Physicists from King’s College London will dive into the science of dark matter, exploring some of the biggest questions:
- What is it?
- Where is it?
- Why is it?
- And most importantly, how can we find it?
Dress to impress, and prepare for an evening filled with cosmic exploration!
Programme:
18:20 - 18:40 "Welcome to the Dark Matter Day at King’s" (Olalla Olea-Romacho)
18:40 - 19:00 "Dark Matter Hunter" (Albert Baker)
19:00 - 19:20 "Surfing dark matter waves with quantum sensors" (John Carlton)
19:20 - 19:30 Q&A
This event is co-organized by the Experimental Particle and Astroparticle Physics (EPAP) group @kingsEPAP and Theoretical and Particle Physics and Cosmology (TPPC) group @kcltppc, Department of Physics at King's College London @KCL_Physics.
