Australia Day commemorates the arrival of  the First Fleet on 26 January 1788, into what is now known as Sydney.

This year, to mark the occasion, King’s College London will be hosting a discussion with Elizabeth Ames, chair of the Menzies Australia Institute, looking at the political and economic implications for indigenous Australians, past and present.

The event, taking place on 26 January, will also be a time to reflect on Britain’s relationship with Australia, post-Brexit.

Join us for this fascinating online discussion, Australia Day: Political and Economic Consequences of Empire, which runs from 11.00 – 12.00.
