We advertise both internal and external events on King's CareerConnect. Our external events include webinars, careers fairs, conferences and dinners hosted by employers and partners around the world.
Fairs, networking nights and employer speed meets provide a direct opportunity to build your networks, discover the breadth of roles and options, focus your search and action your career plan.
Alongside our larger fairs, we run smaller networking nights designed to facilitate deeper discussions, and employer speed meets to explore internships, placements and opportunities.
Careers cafe breakfasts are relaxed events where you can meet employers and talk over a free drink and pastry. These events focus on sectors that may not be represented at our larger careers fairs. They are run in both the autumn and spring.
Careers cafe breakfasts are a great opportunity to ask questions about the types of roles available and what it's really like to work in their organisation, as attendees are often individuals fulfilling the roles themselves. Our students have even been hired directly from attending these events in the past.
Employer presentations and webinars are delivered by employers and industry professionals. They help you to understand the culture of organisations, the roles available and the recruitment processes you’ll need to go through.
These events are held throughout the year and cover a range of sectors. They may consist of company presentations, virtual open days, diversity events, business games and skills workshops.
Employer spotlight promotions are interactive and engaging promotional events where employers share their opportunities with you.
They might include interactive games, quizzes, competitions or giveaways like free coffee, popcorn or their products.
'Discover' careers panels are virtual events where a panel of experts share their career stories, tips and information on their sector. They cover a wide range of sectors, from political risk and international relations to publishing and artificial intelligence.
These events give you an insight into the reality of work and the types of roles that are available. You'll hear from industry professionals and alumni about their lived experiences and have the opportunity to ask questions.
You can choose to attend any event of interest to you or the entire series. We have also aligned this year's events with their accompanying festivals, so you can find those related to a particular sector easily.
Employer masterclasses are educational workshops hosted by real business representatives. They discuss exciting innovations and trends across multiple industries. They might include:
Employer masterclasses are designed to challenge you in a positive way and help you gain a greater understanding of your chosen industries. You'll also find out about the skills, attributes and experiences needed to stand out.
Events take place both virtually and on-campus at different times of the week to ensure that all students have the chance to attend.
Our Inclusive Futures series gives you the opportunity to hear lived experiences of industry leaders from diverse backgrounds. These virtual panel events shine a light on the diverse pathways to success and help you gain valuable insights, advice and support from professionals.
These events are safe spaces and we welcome all students, regardless of background, to attend. The events will broaden your understanding of key issues and structural inequalities, helping you become an ally to others.
Alongside our employer events, there are many more careers education workshops and sessions run in your department or faculty. We also run core programmes of workshops designed to support all students.
Careers education workshops and sessions are run by careers consultants, often with the support of academics, student ambassadors and societies. They take place throughout the academic year.
We run a range of international careers events focused on careers in regions across the world. Our regular workshops include sessions on the labour market in China and Hong Kong SAR, the United States, India and Europe.
