Briefly, tell us about your background and career up to this point?
I worked as a pharmacist in Australia and pursued a PhD in pharmaceutical science at The University of Sydney, during which I developed a passion in research for regenerative therapies for lung disease. I received a fellowship from the European Respiratory Society which moved me to the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London, where I worked as a research fellow for 6 years until I joined King’s in August 2024.
What do you think people in the School would find most surprising about you?
I play the violin and served as a concertmaster at the Korean Sydney Orchestra for 7 years
What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?
Enjoy life to the fullest by not being afraid of trying new things, and no need to rush.
What do you do with your time outside academia/work?
Going to interesting places to keep my 4 year-old and 11 months-old daughters happy, attending church, baking and reading.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Becoming a lecturer at King’s College London!
What is your favourite thing about working at King’s?
The collegiate environment and that the colleagues are genuinely nice. It’s a perfect environment for collaboration and I look forward to working with colleagues who have expertise in diverse fields.
