Once you find the building the library entrance is on the third floor.
In order to gain access, you will need your King’s ID card.
You will then find the Information Point on your right as you enter through the gates.
Staff can be recognised by their purple lanyards or t-shirts.
Collection
Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) Library is one of the largest psychiatric libraries in Western Europe. Holdings include:
- Psychology
- Genetics
- Neurology
- Neuroscience
- Psychiatry
- Psychotherapy
Opening hours:
Based on the NSS & PTES student surveys and working with King’s Security, we're trialling longer opening hours at the IoPPN Library for the rest of this semester.
Dates: Monday, 18 November – Friday, 19 December 2024
Staffed Hours: 09.00 – 17:00 (Mon-Fri)
Extended Hours: Library open until 01:00 AM on weekdays (Security staff will monitor the space).
The nearby Weston Education Centre Library is also available and open until 01.00 (including weekends) with 24/7 spaces, details can be found on the library opening hours page.
Important to know:
- You just need your King’s ID card to enter the libraries.
- All library areas are quiet zones except for designated silent and discuss zones.
- Food policy: cold food can be eaten in quiet and discuss zones. Hot food is not permitted in any zone.
- Lidded drinks are welcome in all zones.
Floor Plans
Library floor plans have been created to assist you find resources, services and facilities.
Study Spaces
Spread across three floors, the library hosts a variety of study spaces, including Group Study rooms, and Assistive Technology rooms.
There are three different zones (quiet, silent, discuss) in the library which are colour-coded on the floor plans. Choose a zone that suits your study needs and be respectful of others studying around you.
