Important information for applying
Find out all you need to know about the application process.
We know waiting for a decision on your application can be a distressing time. We hope some of the guidance here will help answer some of the questions you may have while waiting to hear back from King's.
When your application reaches King's, you will receive an email confirming receipt, and giving you log in details for King's Apply, our admissions portal. If you apply through UCAS, please do not register an account; we will create an account for you.
For applicants who apply by the UCAS deadline, we aim to communicate all of our decisions by the UCAS decision deadline in May, in accordance with the UCAS deadline.
You might hear from us sooner about your application, especially if we have any questions for you, or if we would like to invite you to interview.
Wherever possible, we aim to provide a final decision within 8-12 weeks of application receipt.
However, for our most competitive programmes this may take longer as we will be making assessments across all applications received. This is known as a “gathered field” process. If the programme you have applied to falls within this category, this will be detailed on the online prospectus.
Where assessment involves additional steps, such as an interview, a final outcome may also take slightly longer. This would again be detailed on our online prospectus should it be an entry requirement of your chosen course.
We will strive to keep you updated throughout the application process. You can check the status of your application at any stage using King's Apply, and you will receive an update by email if anything changes or if we send you a message.
