To enact King’s commitment to positive social impact, our staff and students can take up to three service days each year to volunteer their time to support our local, national, and international communities.
Volunteering is a great way to make a positive difference in the world.
To enact King’s commitment to positive social impact, everyone employed by King’s can choose to spend up to three days or 21 hours per year (pro-rated if relevant) doing voluntary work for another organisation or volunteering scheme, regardless of the role you have at King’s. King's staff can visit the Service Time intranet page (King's log in credentials needed) for more information.
Students can log their volunteering hours towards a KCLSU Volunteering Award.
Supporting a social mobility organisation's effort to tackle educational inequality is an effective way to support widening participation.
King's staff and students can visit the King’s Volunteering webpage to find social mobility and widening participation organisations looking for volunteers to support underrepresented and disadvantaged young people with their educational journeys.
Current students can find a wide range of active student groups and societies on the KCLSU webpage providing widening participation activity to underrepresented groups and communities and browse other volunteering opportunities through the KCLSU Volunteering Record (log in credentials required). Students can also visit their former school or college to deliver a presentation about life at King’s to prospective students through becoming a student ambassador.
Once you're a King's student, you'll also have the opportunity to volunteer with some our partner institutions, including the below:
