The Schools and Colleges Liaison team regularly visits schools and colleges throughout the UK, attending higher education and careers fairs and delivering a range of higher education progression talks and workshops to Sixth form students and their parents.

We attend higher education and careers fairs throughout the UK for students in Years 11, 12 and 13.

A highly trained team of King's staff or our experienced student ambassadors will be available to advise students and their parents on the opportunities available at King’s, student life, and applying to us. If you are organising your school or college’s higher education or careers fair, please contact us as soon as you have a date.

We also attend UCAS conventions throughout the UK in the spring and summer.

Our experienced Schools and Colleges Liaison team and student ambassadors deliver a range of lively and engaging talks and workshops to students in years 12 and 13, as well as their parents. Talks normally last 30-45 minutes plus a 15 minute question and answer session, but they can be tailored to your requirements.

Please note, as we are a small team we may not be able to accept all school requests.

Choosing the right course

Recommended for year 12 students after December of their research process

With 50,000 + undergraduate courses at over 395 higher education institutions in the UK alone, choosing the right course and university can seem overwhelming. This talk will highlight to students the range of options available to them and give them practical tips on how they can choose the right type of course and university for them.

Competitive applications

Recommended for year 12 students after December. Parents may also be interested.

Students interested in applying to competitive courses and universities will get an insight into what makes a course competitive, what universities look for and how they can make themselves stand out among the thousands of applications received every year.

Personal Statements

Recommended for students in Year 12 about to start their application.

This talk goes into greater depth about what students can do to craft the most effective personal statement possible. It includes practical advice on how students can get started on writing their first draft.

Studying in London

Parents may also be interested.

The prospect of studying in London, and the costs associated with living in the capital, can be a concern for some students and their parents. This session outlines what its really like to live and study in London, how it can benefit students’ future careers, what financial support is available and reveal why life as a student really is the cheapest time to live in London! This talk can also be adapted for students attending school or college in London and the surrounding areas.

Why go to university?

Recommended for students who are still a bit unsure about university.

With so many options available, we aim to give your students a helping hand in their decision making. We'll cover different pathways, including new apprenticeships, accelerated courses and career choices.

Personal Statements

Recommended for Year 13 students who have started their personal statements

During this session our Schools & Colleges Liaison team will take an in-depth look into how students can structure their personal statement, discuss what makes an effective introduction and conclusion, and advise on editing and refining what they’ve written to ensure their statement makes an impact.

Preparing for university 

Recommended for Year 13 students who have submitted or are just about to submit their UCAS application form.

From the transition from school or college to university and the different approaches to learning, to extra-curricular opportunities and living away from home for the first time. By the end of this session, your students should feel confident and excited about attending university.
