What is the optional modules selection process? 

Students are normally able to select their optional modules at the point of entry. Once they are properly registered to the programme (after completing the enrolment task), they would receive an email from Registry with instructions on how to select the modules. 

This should happen around August/September when all the summer diets have been ratified by Registry.

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Science at King’s College London takes immense pride in announcing the establishment of the Peter Quinn Award for Excellence in Bioscience. This award, named in honour of the late Peter Quinn, aims to recognize outstanding achievement in innovative research by taught postgraduate students.

About Peter Quinn:

Professor Peter Quinn made immense contributions to the academic community of King’s College London through his pioneering research and unwavering intellectual curiosity. This award has been established in his honour to provide a legacy that enriches our academic environment by inspiring future generations of bioscientists, encouraging them to emulate Peter's commitment to innovation and scholarly pursuit.

Award Criteria:

The Peter Quinn Award for Excellence in Bioscience will celebrate taught postgraduate students in the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science who excel academically and best meet the following criteria:

• Academic Excellence. Outstanding performance in the subject area of bioscience. This is assessed by attaining distinction in their postgraduate programme.
• Achievement in Bioscience Research. Excellence in the bioscience research project, with a preference for contributions in the realm of biophysics. This criterion includes the candidate's ability to generate novel insights, conduct rigorous experimentation, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of bioscience knowledge.
• Intellectual Curiosity. Visionary thinking signified by the candidate's capacity to recognise the potential impact of their research and contextualise it within the broader scope of bioscience. Candidates are assessed based on their ability to articulate a compelling vision for their research and demonstrate a genuine passion for inquiry-driven experimentation.

The Peter Quinn Award for Excellence in Bioscience not only acknowledges outstanding achievement but also serves to inspire and motivate future leaders in the field of bioscience. Recipients of this prestigious award will be recognized for their exceptional performance and their potential to shape the future of bioscience.
