The School of Education, Communication & Society works for the public good through research and teaching. We are focused on education in its broadest sense, including processes of learning, communication and social change.
The School has a proud history of contributing to policy debates and the concerns of professional communities across multiple sectors, both nationally and internationally. We provide courses that help students critically analyse, research and effectively respond to changes in thinking and policy in their fields.
Our School has an active and internationally respected research community and it is renowned for its high quality research-led teaching. We are the leading institution for education research in London (REF, 2021) and our members are at the forefront of study across a range of disciplines including applied philosophy, linguistics, sociology and social policy.
Our academic expertise also includes mathematics education, science education, computer science education, language education and teacher development.
Our research is focused on transforming policy and professional practice, with users and beneficiaries spanning UK, local and national governments, international organisations, policy bodies and overseas governments, professional associations and societies, voluntary and commercial organisations and individual practitioners.
Our MA's in languages are designed for language teachers who wish to engage in principles of English Language Teaching.
Our graduates use the skills which they develop with us to pursue careers in doctoral research, journalism, publishing, international relations and language-related professions such as teaching, translation and interpreting.

Applications are open for up to 13 scholarships to study for an MA in STEM Education. Funded by WIPRO Limited, the scholarships cover 70% of the tuition fees. The scholarships are open to current practicing teachers.

The scholarship is open to students who are applying to the MA International Child Rights and Development programme at King’s College London. Successful applicants for the Scholarship must also receive an offer and fulfil all conditions of entry to receive the tuition fee discount.
