It is a fundamental aim of the International Strategy that all King's students, no matter what their socio-economic background, should be able to take part in an educational, international experience during their time at university.
The Global Mobility Office at King's is therefore committed to ensuring study abroad remains accessible to all students. This webpage is dedicated to showcasing mobility opportunities to students from a Widening Participation background, including those who are in receipt of the King's Living Bursary.
There are several different routes students can take to make sure that they spend time abroad during their time at King's. Whilst a typical study abroad experience might include semester or year long study at a partner university overseas, there are many other options to gain an international, educational experience as part of your degree, including through shorter term opportunities such as summer programmes and internships. These options are particularly attractive to students not able to study abroad as part of their degree, as well as those who may not be able to move away from London for a lengthy period of time.

There are various funding options that can positively influence the financial viability of studying abroad. It is hoped that together, these factors can encourage and enable all students - no matter what their socio-economic background - to study abroad during their degree here at King's.
Reduced tuition fees
A major benefit of studying abroad for a semester or year long period is the substantial reduction in tuition fees paid to King's. You can find out more about this on our tuition fees whilst studying abroad webpage.
There are also remunerations offered by UK Student Finance companies too.
Funding opportunities
There are a range of other funding opportunities students can access, including the Broadening Horizons Award, which is specifically for students in receipt of the King's Living Bursary and/or from Widening Participation backgrounds.
Find out more about the above funding options on our funding opportunities catalogue.
