The University of São Paulo (USP) is a pre-eminent Latin American university, the largest institution dedicated to higher education and research in Brazil and ranked second in Latin America according to the Times Higher Education 2008. USP is composed of seven campuses, 40 learning and research units, five hospitals, five museums, five specialized institutes as well as multiple experimental laboratories and centres of scientific and cultural diffusion. With approximately 700 regular courses in more than 3,400 disciplines, USP is a sprawling hub of academic activity. School and departmental links throughout the College have created a foundation for a strong and multi-dimensional partnership between USP and King’s which will enhance research collaboration and offer unique opportunities to faculty and students.
