Universidad del Pacífico (or University of the Pacific) is a small private university in the Jesús María District of Lima, Peru. It was established in 1962 by a group of Peruvian entrepreneurs. UP has a little over 3,000 students enrolled at the undergraduate level and 500 students enrolled at MA level and has a particular focus on business, economics and law. Like many southern hemisphere institutions, UP's academic calendar runs late-March until July for semester one, the second semester begins in mid-August before ending in mid-December.
