Tongji University
About the Institution
The history of Tongji University can be traced back to 1907 when Tongji German Medical School was founded by Erich Paulun, a German doctor in Shanghai. It was formally established as a university in 1923. Since then, Tongji University has become a comprehensive university which offers a wide range of programs in sciences, engineering, medicine, arts, law, economics and management to over 36,000 students.
Campus allocation
The university has five campuses in Shanghai. Tongji University has always been attaching great importance to developing culture. To that end, continuous efforts have been made to enrich and diversify the development of campus culture, including the establishment of a public platform for sharing resources about traditional Chinese culture and history.
