Fudan University is one of the oldest, most prestigious, and most selective universities in China (World #34, Chinese mainland #3 - QS 2023). Situated in Shanghai, which is an international metropolis with a dynamic and inclusive culture, and also one of the safest cities in the world. Fudan International Summer Session is a 4-week English-taught course study program for college students from all over the world. Starting from 2012, the program has welcomed more than 5,000 students in the past 11 years. It helps students achieve multicultural understanding, establish a global vision, and get connected with peers from all over the world. Fudan University's degree students will also participate in the program. So students will have the opportunity to get to know Shanghai and China, and become part of the Fudan community. Content courses cover a variety of topics, Business and Economy, History and Culture, Science and Technology, Society and Politics, and Law. In addition, PE courses such as Chinese Kungfu and Chinese Folk Dance, and different levels of Chinese language courses are also provided. Apart from the courses, various extracurricular and social activities, such as Shanghai city exploration, Company visits, Chinese painting, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese ceramic art, etc., are also arranged for students to experience the Chinese culture and the wonders of Shanghai, achieve multicultural understanding, establish a global vision, and get connected with peers from Fudan and all over the world.

Who can apply?

The Fudan University International Summer Session (FISS) is open to undergraduate and postgraduate taught students only. Postgraduate research students are excluded from this offer.

Programme dates

Fudan University are offering a few different options for the International Summer Sessions and these are as follows: - 4 content courses in Session 1 - Monday 8th July 2024 - Friday 19th July 2024 - 3 content courses in Session 2 - Monday 22nd July 2024 - Friday 2nd August 2024 - 22 content courses that cover both Session 1 and 2 - Monday 8th July 2024 - Friday 2nd August 2024 - 3 Chinese language courses are 4-week courses - Monday 8th July 2024 - Friday 2nd August 2024. - 2 PE courses are 3-week courses - Monday 8th July 2024 - Friday 26th July 2024. Some courses run over a period of 4 and 6 weeks and others do not. Please check the course link above for more details on the dates and duration of each course.

Accommodation

Students are required to arrange their own accommodation in advance. Please note, FISS does not provide on-campus accommodation to Chinese citizens and will need to arrange off-campus accommodation on their own.
