About the Institution

EWHA Womans University was the first education institute for Korean women, founded in 1886. From a cohort of just 15 students in 1910, EWHA Womans University now has more than 20,000 students studying on its campus in the heart of Seoul. EWHA has always been a global pioneer in leading the era. Beginning with a single student in 1886, EWHA has expanded women’s potential for over a century, and now stands at the very forefront of future innovation. The EWHA International Summer College (EISC) has been offering summer programmes for students from around the world since 1971. Every summer the EISC offers a comprehensive academic programme accompanied with diverse cultural activities and field trips so help students immerse in Korean culture.

Who can apply?

The EWHA University International Summer College (EISC) is open to undergraduate and postgraduate taught students only. Postgraduate research students are excluded from this offer.

Courses offered

The EISC offers two sessions to cater to different interests and needs of students and these are as follows: Session 1: - Korean language classes - Field trips & Cultural activities - On-campus housing at EWHA's I-House - EWHA PEACE BUDDY Please note students can choose two courses for session 1. Session 2: - Korean language classes - Special lectures on various topics - Cultural activities & optional 1 night 2 day trip - On-campus housing at EWHA's I-House Both sessions offer academic courses taught in English, please find the webpages for more information:

Programme dates

The EISC programme will be running from the following dates: Session 1: Friday 28 June 2024 - Thursday 25 July 2024 Session 2: Friday 2 August - Wednesday 14 August 2024 Please note: This is a FIRM deadline - the online application site will automatically close after the deadline and further applications will not be accepted.

Application deadlines

Applications for the Global Summer Exchange Programme 2024 have now closed. This page will be updated with information on Summer 2025 in due course. Following a successful application, you will be required to apply directly to EWHA University International Summer College (EISC) by the following dates: Session 1: Friday 17 May 2024 23:59 KST Session 2: Friday 28 June 2024 23:59 KST. Accommodation

On-campus and off-campus accommodation is available. Students may apply for housing from within their EISC application. Students who are unable to secure a room at the I-House or who do not wish to use the on-campus dormitory may opt to reside off-campus. Please note that it is the student's responsibility to find and secure their room should they choose this option.
