As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re relaunching the King’s Wellness Scheme and we want to help you improve your mood and find your personal best.
The King’s Wellness Scheme is a great opportunity for anyone in the King's community who is experiencing stress or is facing difficulties with their physical or mental wellbeing. You'll get an activity plan tailored to your needs and the opportunity for one-to-one coaching or support.
You can choose one of three pathways:
- Active Wellness
- Yoga & Mindfulness
- Volunteering
Each pathway is designed to focus on a different way to wellbeing, from becoming more physically active to giving to others. Find out more about the different pathways below or on the King’s Wellness Scheme page.
Use this form to register to take part in the scheme - your application will be reviewed and someone will be in touch within seven working days.
The Active Wellness pathway
If you’re having mental or physical health difficulties, the Active Wellness pathway could help.
We use exercise therapy to help you improve your general wellbeing and thrive in your day-to-day activities. Physical activity has been proven to have a profound positive effect on all sorts of issues, from low mood and poor sleep to anxiety, depression or chronic physical health problems.
You can access the Active Wellness pathway online or in-person. You’ll benefit from:
The Yoga & Mindfulness pathway
Practising yoga and mindfulness can help you to manage and reduce feelings of anxiety, stress and depression.
This pathway aims to equip you with different methods to engage in the present moment and bring awareness to the body, mind and breath. You’ll develop techniques to embed mindfulness into your day-to-day life.
You’ll also gain access to the following:
- an one-to-one consultation with a Wellness Coach
- four weekly group Yoga & Mindfulness classes with a qualified yoga teacher (Yoga & Mindfulness classes will be an hour long and include around 30 mins of yoga, and 30 mins of mindfulness and/or breathwork)
- free access to the Waterloo Wellness Centre services including physiotherapy, nutrition advice, health appraisals and more.
The Volunteering pathway
Giving back to the community can help improve your wellbeing. By signing up to King’s Volunteering via this pathway, you'll be able to apply for roles in and around London.
You'll also be able to book an one-to-one with the King’s Volunteering team to discuss different opportunities to help others and boost your mood.
