Each year in March, students, staff and alumni take part in a range of volunteering activities across the world to celebrate King’s Global Day of Service.
King's Global Day of Service is 25 March, in recognition of the day King’s was founded, but any volunteering activities that take place in March can contribute to our volunteering hours.
Last March 575 volunteers from the King’s community across 32 different countries spent an incredible 2,900 hours volunteering. This year, we want to have an even greater impact, so we are calling on you to arrange or take part in a volunteering event!
Why should I volunteer?
Volunteering is a great way to enhance your sense of purpose and belonging, develop skills and experiences, and contribute meaningfully to communities. Volunteering can also help to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and increase life satisfaction.
The NHS wheel of wellbeing is a great tool to use when thinking about how volunteering can support your own health and happiness. We believe volunteering should be mutually beneficial, so don't be afraid to choose an activity that prioritises your needs.
Sounds great! How do I get involved?
There are numerous ways for you to take part. Head to the King’s Volunteering to discover a more about how to make a positive difference.
From one-off events to regular volunteering opportunities, there is something for everyone. Whether it is the environment, education or mental health, King’s Volunteering can connect students and staff with an organisation and a cause that is important to them.

Don’t forget!
If you do undertake voluntary activities in March, make sure to log your hours by completing our short Global Day of Service impact form. This way we can keep track of our positive impact and celebrate your contributions.
Already volunteer? That’s great! You can log your regular volunteering hours on the form as part of our service activities.
