Hi everyone. I’m Akshara, a first-year medical student from Canada, and I cannot wait to join the amazing Student Life Content Creator team!

As a 17-year-old navigating life in a new country for the first time, I joined this team to share what it’s really like to study medicine abroad. From balancing academics to getting involved with King’s vibrant culture to exploring everything London has to offer; I’m learning to make this city feel like home.

I’m excited to create fresh, original content that resonates with King’s diverse student community, and I hope to make some great connections along the way. This program is also a fantastic opportunity for me to develop my writing skills.

Random fun fact: I flew alone from the UK to the USA when I was just 5 years old!

Giulia Pession

Hi! I am Giulia and as of last week, I am officially part of the Student Life Content Creator Programme. Originally from northern Italy, I moved to London two years ago to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics at King’s. It seems like yesterday that I was dreaming about being a student in the big city (for context, my hometown is a tiny village at the bottom of the Matterhorn, otherwise known as the Toblerone mountain).

Not only is this now my third year in London, but, thanks to this programme, I will soon be able to share what it is like to be a student in one of the most vibrant cities in the world. I am very excited to begin this journey and to meet amazing and inspiring people.

Fun fact about me: I ran a half-marathon last year!

If you ever want to have a chat, feel free to reach out! You can find me on Instagram or LinkedIn.

I’m passionate about building community and using my platform to amplify student voices, drawing on my experience working with health start-ups and leading charity initiatives that champion social equity and women’s rights.

Originally from Italy, I spent four years at the University of Bristol before making the jump to London last year. I know first-hand the excitement and the challenges of settling into a new city and university life. My goal is to help others navigate their KCL journey with confidence and connection.

I’m Neha, a second-year BA Philosophy & Modern Languages student. I discovered the Student Life Content Creators programme through a blog posted on the King’s website by a previous student intern, and instantly felt drawn to this role.

The opportunity to elevate my content creation skills alongside a team of passionate and highly motivated individuals – all while making a difference in the student community at King’s – is something I absolutely couldn’t pass up on. I’m thrilled to see where this role will take me both creatively and professionally, and hope to produce content that’ll improve at least one other student's experience here at King’s.
